North AlabamaWorks convened industry and Career Tech Directors on Thursday, March 3, at DeKalb County Technical Center to discuss partnerships and ways to further support career pathways offered to students. The DCTC offers numerous career tech programs and dual enrollment options and is striving to provide students with increasing access to high-demand, high-wage job opportunities.

“The CTE Director Conversation allows the Region 1 CTE directors to network and share ideas. They also are able to tour industry which they love because they can see what is available to students. Then many times they will provide opportunities for the companies to connect with students.” says, Johnita Romine, Education & Training Programs Manager for North AlabamaWorks.

The group was then able to tour GH Metal Solutions in DeKalb County. GH Metal Solutions is a premier metal fabrication supplier to OEMs that partners with DCTC to guide students through a career pathway.

Our thanks to GH Metal Solutions and DeKalb County Technology Center for their hospitality and a great tour of their facilities!
