The Regional Workforce Council (RWC) and the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Board of Directors met on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at J. F. Drake State Community and Technical College for the combined quarterly meeting.

Stephanie McCulloch, Executive Director for North AlabamaWorks, welcomed directors and partners to the first in-person meeting since March of 2020. RWC updates were discussed and presented by North AlabamaWorks team members. These topics include:

  • Industry Clusters,
  • Worlds of Work,
  • Modern Manufacturing,
  • Non-Profit Network,
  • Marketing and Outreach,
  • and the Alabama Workforce Stabilization Program (AWSP).

Ronnie Boles, WIOA Board Chair, then called the WIOA Board of Directors Meeting to order. Presenting updates and speaking were:

  • Phee Friend, WIOA Local Board Manager, Governor’s Local Workforce Areas/WDD
  • Terry Comer, AWSP Program Manager
  • Melissa Anderson, ADOL Area Manager

And additional leaders joining the meeting included Kevin Kidd, Program Services Manager, ADOL, and Ann Faughender, Governor’s Local Workforce Areas / WDD, Alabama Department of Commerce.
