Worlds of Work

September 27-29, 2022

Von Braun Center – South Hall

Presented by

North Alabama’s premier hands-on career expo featuring top employers is coming to the Von Braun Center – South Hall! This event is presented by asmartplace and hosted by North AlabamaWorks.

Students in the 8th grade begin to explore their career options and students in the 9th, and 10th grades begin to plan their pathway. WOW provides an opportunity for students to connect the dots and see the steps they need to take to get the career they want.

Vendor and Sponsorship Information

By participating in WOW, your company will have a chance to interact with approximately 15,000+ students, educators, parents, community leaders, and others. Even though the students are in the 8th grade, they are your future workforce in just a few short years. It’s never too early to begin recruiting. In return for your participation, you are provided publicity and direct interaction with students — up-and-coming young talent preparing to choose a career path. These students are the potential pipeline for the workforce, with some entering the job market, training, or higher education in a short 4-5 years.

Volunteer Information

In order for this event to be successful, we need volunteers. There are several day and times available as well as tasks. If you like hanging with students, you could be an Engagement Leader or help unload and load buses or help check in schools. If you prefer spending time in the hospitality room or helping with lunch, we have a spot for you. Or you might consider volunteering to work with the vendors to make sure their needs are met. There are many volunteer roles to fill, and we will work to get you in the right position.
